About Me

I would like to welcome you and let you know that I look forward to beginning therapeutic work together with you.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I hold a Master in Arts (MA) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Foundation Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Regent’s University London (RUL). Moreover, I entered the field of the mind by acquiring an MSc in Psychology from the University of Hertfordshire and my primary background was in nursing to where I hold a Diploma in Nursing.

The way I work

As an Integrative therapist I work in an eclectic way, drawing from major psychotherapeutic approaches like Psychodynamic, Existential/Humanistic and Behavioural. I do not rely on patterns or pre-defined ways of working but I rather listen to your story and try to see things from your side as well. Be mindfull that I have no answers for your issues nor do I form any diagnosis. I do not work this way. I work in a colaborative manner by supporting you in discussing about whatever bothers, worries and/or concerns you, always at your own pace. I do not expect that you do or say something in the session other than whatever you feel like to.

Having a therapist who is labelled good or bad is subjective. Having a therapist who does not understand you though, can be difficult.

I can only say that having been the client myself, I have come to appreciate the challenges faced within the therapy room.

I aim to be transparent, open-minded, interested and someone with whom you can explore whatever troubles you. I aim to make sense of your world in a safe and non-judgemental environment.

Be aware that we will work in various ways which means that we will go through your past and talk about childhood experiences, family dynamics but also talk about the 'here and now' with a view of your life at present. I can understand the challenges entailed in this way of working and rest assured that I will be next to you, supporting you in this journey.

Your safety and protection are on the top of my list.

After years of clinical practice in the field, and having worked with clients from various backgrounds and ethnicity, I have to say that it is a privilege.

I welcome diversity and rest assured that I will listen closely to your story and unique personal experience. I will not make diversity an issue. However, I welcome your story around it if you feel it has become an issue in your life.
